Many people make assumptions about who will make medical decisions for them if they are not able.  This often causes chaos and disruption of medical treatment.

 

A Patient Advocate Designation is a written document where you list the person who you want to make your medical decisions if you cannot.  A Patient Advocate Designation must be signed while you are legally competent.  If a Patient Advocate Designation is signed by a person who has become impaired, it may not be legally enforceable.
